The Championships Wimbledon, the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament in the world, will take place this June 27th– July 10th, 2016 in London, England. One of four Grand Slam tournaments – including the Australian Open, the US Open, and the French Open Roland Garros – Wimbledon has been held at the All England Club in the London suburb of Wimbledon since 1877.
The two-weeklong Wimbledon tournament, also known as the Champions, is the only Grand Slam tennis tournament still played on grass, and gave “lawn tennis” its name.
