10 Reasons why we love San Francisco, California
10 Reasons why we love San Francisco, California

Bespoke concierge company Pure Entertainment Group has listed its 10 reasons that make San Francisco a unique city to visit. Some people say it is the food, the climate, the people, the architecture, the culture, the shopping. We say it’s all of the above. We invite you to discover why we love San Francisco below:

1. This city is just beautiful. From its position on the Pacific Ocean, drawing fog into the winding streets almost each morning, to the yelping seals down by the fish market, to the ringing of the trolley bell, to the gleaming rust-red of the Golden Gate Bridge, this city is a feast for the senses. Perhaps what gives this city such a unique aesthetic is that the vista across the city lacks and protruding buildings or sky-scrapers. The buildings are mostly constructed in a Victorian design, which has helped maintain an elegant and graceful look to this timeless city.

2. San Francisco is one of the most walkable cities in North America. Even though you’ll find some of the streets almost unbearably steep, you will love discovering hidden flights of stairs leading to another street, or alleyway, mosaics, and pastel-painted houses (The Painted ladies), only possible to really appreciate if you take the time to walk past them.

3. The climate in this city is one you might find in Italy, or Spain. It is mostly warm throughout the year, and even though gets a bit foggy during July and August, you’ll find you can be outside exploring the city with only a light jacket or less throughout the entire year.

4. Bike through Golden Gate Park on Sunday – throughout the year, the city closes the streets in Golden Gate Park for cyclists, roller bladders, and pedestrians, so stretch your legs and enjoy the great outdoors without setting food outside city limits.

5. Sunday brunch is huge in San Francisco. While the rest of California may be sleepily rolling out of their beds each Sunday morning, San Francisco is up and at ‘em, and heading to such local staples as Luna Park for Mimosas, coffee, Bloody Martinis, or whatever else you can think of to pair with your omelet.

6. San Francisco is a city of neighborhoods. You can enjoy an authentic Chinese dinner at China Town, then head to the Castro for an all-night dance party. Whether you like it quiet, or like the hustle and bustle of stores and bars, there is a neighborhood in this city for you to explore.

7. Accessibility: without filling up your gas tank once you can get from downtown San Francisco to the beach and back again. More in the mood to hit the slopes? Same thing: you can get to Lake Tahoe for some serious skiing or boarding in less than three hours. There are few places in the world you can visit with such diverse ecosystems at an arm’s reach from such a bustling urban center.

8. Shopping in the Haight: whether you’re after new Manolo Blahniks or want to dig up a chic vintage look, there is a boutique or store for you in this vibrant neighborhood.

9. Eating in The Mission: while you’re in California, you simply must eat a burrito. In addition, this burrito must come from The Mission, where you can find some of the most authentic Mexican cuisine north of the Rio Grande.

10. The cultural opportunities in this city never cease. From San Francisco’s Museum of Modern Art to the world-renowned San Francisco Ballet, you’re never wanting a cultural or artistic experience in town to lift your spirits and inspire you.
