The new BMW Museum opened July 21, 2008. It is nestled next to the 1972 Olympic village in Munich. It sets new standards for brand-focused and automobile museums, indeed, the museum brings the BMW heritage to life in an experience encompassing all the senses and invoking the spirit of the innovative, dynamic character of the BMW brand. The displays take the visitor through the manufacture of the cars through to highlights of past company models. BMW is more than eight decades of innovation, power, quality, consciousness and motivation. As a company, BMW does not just stand by its history, but deliberately preserves it as a vital element of its identity. Each area along the way is filled with race and prototype cars along with video presentations available in different languages to explain BMW’s philosophies and technical accomplishments.

In conjunction with factory tours and the BMW welt, the museum is the final piece of the full BMW experience.
