Breckenridge Vodka

At an elevation of 9,800 feet in the mountains of Colorado, the folks at Breckenridge Distillery are doing some nice things. A review of Breckenridge’s Bourbon yielded excellent results, and we were equally thrilled after giving the distiller’s vodka a test.

Breckenridge Vodka is made from a base of 100% American-grown corn. It is given a traditional charcoal filtration through coconut shells and blended with Rocky Mountain snowmelt, which the makers feel give it a mineral content that is missing in regular vodkas. The result is a clean, slightly sweet spirit with great balance and body. We loved the hint of evergreen in the taste.

Our tasters were unanimous in their praise for Breckenridge Vodka. It’s perfectly fine drinking it straight, or mixing it (it made a fine, fine martini).

Breckenridge Vodka retails for $27 a bottle.
