The iconic luxury British-based brand Dunhill – known for fine clothing, business bags, fragrances, wallets, sunglasses, writing instruments and precision watches and other leathers and exotics accessories – has just announced the opening of a new bespoke and custom tailoring floor inside its Madison Avenue flagship store in New York (see picture above). The space (the first of its kind in the US) overseen by Dunhill’s resident master tailor – Bruno Consentino, is entirely dedicated to the brand’s exceptional tailoring service. Below we give you the knowledge of what you need to know with the bespoke tailoring in New York’s Dunhill store:

First of, with bespoke tailoring we understand custom service to the client. That being said, Mr Cosentino will work individually with each client to create the ultimate in tailoring indulgence; this guarantees all clothes to fit you perfectly! Clients are personally presented the thousands of luxurious fabrics, from the finest ‘super grade’ wools to Mongolian cashmeres and lightweight linens. From then, Mr Cosentino will suggest appropriate fits and styling to complement the client’s lifestyle and ways to personalize each sartorial investment. Once the design of the pattern is complete, it then becomes part of the Alfred Dunhill archives, kept in reserve for returning clients seeking additional bespoke services. This is pretty sweet deal; you’ll be on top on your game with the perfect clothes each and every time.

To me, a professionally tailored clothing is like a fine work of art, and Dunhill know it: It’s beautiful, unique and timeless. If this is not bespoke tailoring, I think we are not on the same page…

On a side note, Dunhill’s custom tailoring tradition includes a tuxedo made for Truman Capote to wear at his infamous Black & White Ball in the 1960s as well as bespoke suits made for American singer and actor Frank Sinatra.
