Danish brand Bang & Olufsen is celebrating reaching the ripe old age of 90 with a new collection called “Love Affair.” Now, we’re not ones to beat around the bush, so we’re just going to go ahead and say it: This love affair is going to cost you. Inspired by the decadence and glamour of the Roaring Twenties, the new collection revives six (Beoplay A9, BeoLab 8000 speaker, Beoplay H6, Beovision Avant 85, Beovision 11 and Beoremote One) of the brand’s current products with luxurious rose gold details. The collection’s 1920s inspiration is no coincidence as founders Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen launched the company in 1925.
According to Bang & Olufsen, it was important that the collection explore new palette options that kept with “the surge in interest toward beautiful materials.” The company goes on to share that it had noticed a reemergence in consumer interest in rose gold, making it the perfect material with which to gild the anniversary products. Traditionally, white gold represents friendship and yellow gold signifies fidelity; rose gold, on the other hand, is representative of love, and therefore became a touchpoint for the entire collection.
