Keeping with tradition, Royal Salute will launch the Royal Salute Diamond Jubilee Limited Edition to celebrate the Queen’s 60 year reign. Originally, Chivas Brothers first created Royal Salute as a tribute to the finest aged Scotch whiskies to Queen Elizabeth II, to celebrate her coronation in 1953. Indeed, 2,500 initial decanters were filled on the day of her coronation, the 2nd of June 1953. She’s the only the second monarch to do so, and it has not been seen since King Charles II reign over 400 years ago.

The very rare bottle is made from hand-blown and hand-cut crystal decanter and is finished with a show-stopping solid cut crystal stopper. Presented in a hand-crafted display box, the striking royal-blue whisky bottle retails for £165 and is available from Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and Fortnum & Mason.

The Diamond Jubilee will be celebrated in London from 2-5 June, and the Royal Salute Diamond Jubilee is a limited edition bottle that will only be available in 2012 during the Jubilee celebrations.
