The Top 5 islands to visit in Europe

Previously on an article, we listed our choice of the top 5 islands to visit in the Caribbean; here, Pure Entertainment Group, a bespoke concierge company continue its picks but with a different location. If you like the thought of parties on the sand with buckets of Dom Perignon Champagne, dotted with pristine white sandy beaches and beautiful people, welcome to the old continent aka Europe. We’ve selected our choice of the top 5 major islands to visit in Europe where you can rejuvenate your body, mind and soul. And what better way to see these islands than on a luxury motor yacht? I think it’s one of the best ways to experience these popular Mediterranean destinations in style! We recommend taking the more leisurely route.

Here are our picks for the top 5 islands to visit in Europe: (In no order)

Ibiza, Mallorca and the Balearic Islands

Known primarily for their nightlife, Spanish town Ibiza and the other Balearics Islands (Mallorca, Minorca, Formentera) are all popular party/tourist destinations. They all have lots to offer: luxury villas, beautiful hotels, secluded beaches, authentic restaurants and many great attractions. If you like to rock till you drop, this is the place; the partying never stops. We recommend you rent a villa in Ibiza town for a week with couple of friends.

Santorini, Mykonos and the Cyclades Islands

Santorini in the Cyclades is one of the most magical islands of Greece. With its black and red beaches and whitewashed villages with blue dome roofs situated on high cliffs, the island offer spectacular natural beauty and some of the most amazing sunsets you’ll ever see. It’s a perfect destination for your wedding or honeymoon as we wrote here. You can rent a scooter, tour the many wineries, sunset cruise along the caldera or do nothing. The island is one of my favourite. If you’re more into parties, visit Mykonos.

Sicily

Sicily, a beautiful island strategically positioned between Europe and Africa, is a unique melting pot of Mediterranean civilizations that includes the Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Normans, Spanish and French. You can take a private guided tour of Mount Etna, visit some fascinating cities like Palermo and Catania or you can enjoy some of the best beaches such as Mondello Lido (near Palermo the Capital), Mortelle (near Messina), Lido Mazzaro & Giardini-Naxos (near Taormina) and Spiaggia Sabbie Nere (with black sand). We love Sicily!

Sardinia

Sardinia is incredibly beautiful; it’s not your mainstream destination but a very sophisticated Italian island west of mainland Italy and south of Corsica. The island gives you lots of opportunities: you can swim, sail, golf, canoe, dive, hike, climb, ride and bike, cave-dive and snorkel around the island all year. Visit Costa Smeralda (“The Emerald Coast”), Portobello, Cagliari, and Chia if you’re looking for crystal clear water and gleaming white-sand beaches. Don’t forget to bring back olive oil, sauces, condiments, dried pasta, honey, panettone and almond biscuits. La vita è bella!

Hvar and the Dalmatian Islands

The Dalmatian coast is fast becoming the French Riviera of the east of Europe with Hvar its St Tropez. This beautiful Croatian resort patronized by celebrities, the rich and famous and discerning travelers has been relatively unspoiled by tourism until recently. Now Hvar town is Croatia’s party place with luxury yachts everywhere, top hotels and buzzing nightlife. You can expect romance and glamour on this Adriatic paradise. Just for your info, Hvar is known as “Lavender Island”; the moment you step off the boat onto the island, you’ll know why. Another hot European island party destination. Go visit!

All of these gorgeous islands offer something for every traveler; whether you’re looking to relax on the beach or explore the untouched scenery you’ll be pleased. Contact luxury concierge company, Pure Entertainment Group if you like the suggestions. We will help you with your luxury travel arrangements as well as preferential room rates at any of these top 5 islands in Europe.
