Piaget, known for their ultra-thin watches now introduced the Altiplano Chronograph. Only 8.24mm thick is the case of the Piaget Altiplano Chronograph watch that was presented today on the 25th Salon International de Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) Jan 19-23, in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Piaget Altiplano Chronograph has a hand-wound movement that only measures 4,65mm (thickness). Available in 18-carat white gold and, in pink gold. The white gold version has a diamond set bezel, 56 brilliant cut stones with a total weight of 1.8 carat. The diameter of this sleek designed chronograph is 41mm, making it very wearable. Piaget stressed that this Altiplano Chronograph would make a wonderful daily wearer because of its dimensions.

Inside is the in-house developed Piaget caliber 883P movement, a column-wheel fly-back chronograph with parts that are thinner than a human hair. It has a 50-hour power reserve, which means you will need to wind it every two days. The fly-back function allows you to quickly restart the chronograph with one single push of the button. Piaget said they spent two years in the development of this caliber 883P movement, which was done in La Côte-aux-Fées, the birthplace of the Manufacture Piaget. The movement of the Altiplano Chronograph consists of 240 components and has received a beautiful circular Côtes de Genève finish, a circular-grained main plate, bevelled bridges and blued screws.

As you can see on the photos, the Piaget Altiplano Chronograph is an elegant looking timepiece. The sub dials are very clean and there is no overlap of minute or hour markers there. Price will be approx. € 26.000 Euro for the version in yellow gold.
